LocalAttorney is a free service that helps people understand what kind of legal help they may need and connects those who ask with attorneys and law firms that handle that kind of matter.
LocalAttorney is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing on this site creates an attorney-client relationship, and nothing here should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney about your own situation. We do not predict, promise, or guarantee any outcome in any matter.
Two things. First, we publish plain explanations of how common civil matters work: what a statute of limitations is, what a contingency fee agreement typically contains, what documents an attorney will ask you for at a first meeting, and what the stages of a case are called. This is general information about process, not advice about your case.
Second, if you tell us you want to speak with an attorney, we pass what you told us to participating attorneys or law firms in the relevant practice area, and one of them may contact you. Whether to speak with them, whether to hire anyone, and whom to hire is entirely your decision.
Every kind of civil claim has a time limit for filing, set by state law, and the limits differ by claim type and by state. Some are measured in months. Missing one usually ends the matter regardless of its merits. If you think you may have a claim, the useful step is to speak with a licensed attorney in your state promptly rather than to keep researching. We say this on our practice-area pages for the same reason.
Our informational pages cover motor vehicle accidents, personal injury, rideshare incidents, workers' compensation, Social Security Disability, medical malpractice, and bankruptcy. Each explains how that kind of matter usually proceeds and what an attorney will want to know. None of it is advice about your circumstances.
Attorneys and law firms pay us when we connect them with someone who has asked to be contacted. We do not charge consumers anything. Participation in our network is not an endorsement, a certification, or a statement that any attorney is better than any other. You should evaluate any attorney yourself, including checking their standing with your state bar, which is public and free to look up.
If you submit a form, we collect what you enter and share it with participating attorneys, law firms, or partners so they can respond. We do not sell your phone number to unrelated marketers. Texts are sent only if you check the box asking for them, and replying STOP ends them. Reply HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, and our Partners page.
This site is legal advertising in some jurisdictions. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Attorney services are provided by the attorneys and firms themselves, not by LocalAttorney.
